A Collection for the Community, Going Out to the Community

Earlier this year, Elmbridge Museum acquired two new mobile display cases for use at exciting new venues throughout the Borough. Each metre-long case can hold a miniature exhibition tailored to its surroundings and will be situated in varying venues in the months to come.

We recently held two successful pilot exhibitions; ‘A Trip Down Memory Lane’ at Weybridge Community Centre and ‘Walton-on-Water’ at Xcel Leisure Centre.

Both cases have now returned to Elmbridge Civic Centre before ‘A Royal Affair’, which features memorabilia from Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation, goes to Thames Ditton Community Centre. Our other mobile case will stay at the Civic Centre displaying ‘Weybridge Highlights’, which tells the story of British Rail and Weybridge Station, St Maur’s Convent School and the closure of Church Street Sainsbury’s in the 1970s.

Don’t miss your opportunity to see these great pop-up exhibitions at their current locations before March 2018!
