Dorking Museum to Receive 273 Items from Elmbridge Museum

We are very excited to announce that we are transferring 273 items from our costume collection to Dorking Museum in accordance with our Effective Collections Project. Two very large and significant collections from the Broadwood Trust and Ockley Court will soon be rehomed. We now have permission from the Broadwood Trust to transfer the loan of 92 items, between the Broadwood Trust and Elmbridge Museum, to Dorking Museum. A further 181 items donated by the Calvert family of Ockley Court will also be rehomed by Dorking. These fantastic collections are more relevant to Dorking Museum as the families lived in the Dorking area. The transfer also aims to make the collections more accessible to the public.
