Families celebrated Surrey Museums Month by taking part in Elmbridge Museum’s ‘Things with wings’ Family Fun workshop. Air is the theme for Surrey Museum’s month this year.
Inspired by the Museum exhibits children then designed and decorated their own butterflies and birds.
An i-spy challenge for children runs from 1 April to 1 September as part of Surrey Museums Month. Start your challenge with a visit to Elmbridge Museum’s ‘Come Fly with me’ exhibition at Cobham Library. Pick up a trail leaflet, spot the object in the display case and note what it is and then collect a sticker from the library team. Next visit the 16 other Surrey Museums listed in the trail leaflet to spot the air-mazing object or photographs they have on display.
‘Things with wings’ was part of a series of Family Fun events run by Elmbridge Museum once a month on a Saturday, 2:00-4:30pm. Our next workshop, ‘Awesome Anglo-Saxons’, is on Saturday 9 June at Thames Ditton Library. Create your own Saxon inspired jewellery and find out about Anglo-Saxons in Elmbridge.
