On 29th April Elmbridge Museum's Learning Officer led an engaging session with the History Club at St. George's Junior School in Weybridge.
This half term the History Club have been learning about Kings and Queens and they were keen to find out more about the monarchs who hundreds of years ago would have lived right on their doorstep at the magnificent Oatlands Palace.
The enthusiastic young historians were fascinated by the medieval tiles found in the foundations of the Palace during the excavations in the 1960s. They used the tiles' intricate designs as inspiration for their very own tile prints. The students relished the precision needed to create their printing blocks and enjoyed using the ink to make their tile prints.
