Echoes of War
2025 saw the 80th anniversaries of Victory in Europe Day and Victory over Japan Day. To honour these anniversaries, Elmbridge Museum has curated ‘Echoes of War’ alongside sound artist Emily Peasgood. Immerse yourself in Emily’s incredible recreation of a Morrison shelter, where you can listen to recorded Home Front stories narrated by Elmbridge residents and local schoolchildren.
Explore authentic WW2 artefacts and costumes from the Museum’s collection, highlighting life on the Home Front in our Borough. Discover artwork from Year 6 children at St Andrew’s C of E Primary School in Cobham.
This VE and VJ Day commemoration project is supported using public funding by UK Government through Arts Council England.
