This fascinating collection of artefacts give a unique insight into the realities of surviving in prehistoric Elmbridge. Learn how the introduction of metals such as copper and bronze allowed Bronze Age people to clear woodland and grow crops more successfully, while the ability to work harder metals like iron enabled Iron Age inhabitants to craft more sophisticated tools and weapons, leading to a more aggressive and physical culture.

Produced in collaboration with St James C. of E. Primary School in Weybridge, these ancient artefacts are imaginatively brought to life by the students’ colourful and creative artwork.

The display can be viewed during Dittons Library’s open hours. Click here to see these on the Surrey Libraries website.
